2005 CODI Conference
Minneapolis, MN
November 7-9, 2005 at the Hilton Hotel
On behalf of the CODI users group you are invited to:
ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE
The CODI Board cordially invites you to attend the 16th annual CODI Conference, Achieving Excellence. The
conference this year will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 7th through the 9th. Last year's conference
marked many milestones for us as a user group. This year we plan to build on the momentum and hold the best conference
ever, with something of importance for all sizes and types of libraries. User group conferences are consistently
rated "the best use of travel funds to take home solutions for real-life problems!" So join us.
The program committee has been working already to create exciting programs and many tracks. Not only will you find
something of interest every day but you will have a hard time choosing which program to attend. But don't worry, we
will continue the tradition of posting the presentations on the web site. We would also encourage you to be a
presenter. We still have slots available and there are many topics you can share with your peers.
Our keynote speaker will be the International computer expert, Mark Minasi. "Mark Minasi is a best-selling author,
popular technology columnist, commentator, keynote speaker, and all-around alpha geek… He is probably best known for
his books in the Mastering series (Mastering Windows Server 2003, Mastering Windows NT Server, Mastering Windows 2000
Server, Mastering XP Professional, etc) and his perennial hardware PC repair and fix-it book The Complete PC Upgrade
and Maintenance Guide, now in its 13th edition." But Windows is not his only expertise. He writes on Linux, security,
and the software industry in general. He will also present a session on computer security that you will not want to
miss.
Academic libraries are particularly encouraged to participate this year. With the recent announcement of the
Corinthian offering from Dynix we feel it is especially important to attend the conference and get to know what
Horizon 8.0 and Corinthian have to offer you. Share your knowledge and learn from your peers.
See you in Minneapolis!
Cordially,
Eileen R. Kontrovitz, M.L.S.
