Statement of Purpose and Organization

• The Metro DC Area Unicorn Users Group provides an informal forum for users of Sirsi Corporation's Unicorn software (and related products and services) to meet regularly in the metropolitan Washington, DC, area to discuss topics of common concern.
  
• Staff from institutions which either have implemented Unicorn software at their site, or have signed a contract with Sirsi Corporation to implement this software, can have membership in the Group.
  
• The Group has no formal relationship with Sirsi Corporation or with other users groups for Sirsi Corporation products and services. The Group may invite Sirsi Corporation or other Sirsi users groups representatives to participate in its activities to share information and provide updates on developments at Sirsi and in other users groups.
  
• A self-appointed Board will coordinate the activities of the Group. The Board will arrange and publicize the Group meetings.
  
• The Group will have no dues and communicate by free means (such as electronic mail, the World Wide Web, and free announcements in publications related to Unicorn).
  
• The Group will emphasize enhanced communication among Sirsi product users, rather than organizational structure and process.
